A taste of success

Posted on

Dougal Black Carpentry once again tastes success with this latest unique furniture project!

"It has been a privilege to work with a local distillery on the centrepiece of their whisky tasting experience" says Dougal, proudly standing beside his latest creation. Dougal and his wife Jane worked together on the unique design of this tasting table, using the elements of oak and iron, combined with the deconstructed and re-imagined shapes to be found in a traditional whisky cask.

The result is a heavy and imposing part-circular table-top on seven tall legs joined with an iron hoop, allowing up to ten people to gather around it for whisky-tasting experiences.

"I derive great encouragement from a commission like this - it displays a continuing trust in the combination of bespoke design and hand-crafting" says Dougal, "I often hear my customers say they much prefer to be involved in the process, rather than being dictated to by what's available.  This ensures the product then meets their needs exactly."

Time for a taste of the good stuff!

Dear Dougal, we thought you might like to see a photo of the bookcases with books upon them and therefore attach one. We are very pleased with the result and friends are already impressed. One friend from Cambridge commented that the bookcases made the room look like one in a National Trust property! Be assured, we shall make sure people know who made the shelves - and if we need more work at the house we shall be in touch..... Thanks again for doing such an excellent job.
